This new service improves the security of our data and reduces our vulnerability to phishing attacks and other scams.<\/p>\n<p>Because the security of your information is at stake, we want to act quickly. <b>Simmons is requiring all students, faculty, and staff to be enrolled in SharkPass by June 1, 2017<\/b>. We encourage you to set it up as soon as possible so you don\u2019t experience any interruptions in access to services during finals, commencement, or the summer break.<\/p>\n<p>To activate and enroll in SharkPass, visit our project website (<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/simmons.edu\/sharkpass\">sharkpass.simmons.edu<\/a>). There, you\u2019ll find <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/simmons.edu\/sharkpass\/how-tos\">step-by-step instructions<\/a>\u2014and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/simmons.edu\/sharkpass\/video-tutorials\">videos<\/a>\u2014to guide you through the process and help you get started with two-step verification.<\/p>\n<p>When you enroll, be sure to add a backup device\u2014like a <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/simmons.edu\/sharkpass\/how-tos\/adding-a-landline-phone\">landline phone<\/a>\u2014or send yourself <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/simmons.edu\/sharkpass\/how-tos\/backup-codes-via-text-message\">backup codes<\/a>. Having a backup means that you\u2019ll still be able to log in even if your primary device isn\u2019t nearby or if its battery is dead.<\/p>\n<p>On the project site, you\u2019ll also find a calendar of on-campus events. Technology staff members will host these in-person demonstrations across campus, giving everyone at Simmons an opportunity to ask questions and get hands-on help.<\/p>\n<p>If you need help with SharkPass, or if you are an online-only student or faculty member, please contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/servicedesk.simmons.edu\/getsupport\">Service Desk<\/a> at 617-521-2222.
