Chat lets you connect with other people in a real-time conversation. It\u2019s perfect for asking quick questions, planning a meeting, or having an \u201coffline\u201d conversation with someone rather than replying all to a group email. And wouldn&#8217;t everyone&#8217;s day be a little better with fewer emails?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"color: #333333;\" src=\"http:\/\/technews.simmons.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/october-chat-2.png\" alt=\"Google Chat list\" width=\"200\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"10\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">When you\u2019re logged into your Simmons email, the chat panel is in the lower left corner of your screen. If someone is available to chat, you\u2019ll see a green dot next to their name. If they\u2019re not available, they\u2019ll receive your message as soon as they\u2019re back online. Clicking on a person\u2019s name will open a new chat window. You can use this space to talk, share links, and send images.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">You can even add additional people to turn a one-to-one chat session into a Hangout with up to 15 participants.
